Stacks of Rock

The old Man of HoyThese one week courses are for experienced rock climbers who would like to explore some of the well known but remote sea stacks of Scotland. The aim is to attempt three climbs during the course.

  • The Old Man of Stoer (Hard Severe)
  • Am Buachaille (HVS, 4c)
  • The Old Man of Hoy (E1 5b)

The course meets in Fort William on the Saturday and travels north that evening, returning sometime on the following Friday. The exact timetable of climbs will be flexible and depends on weather and tides. Two of the climbs have swimming approaches , so bring your flippers! Accommodation will be on a self cater basis in either tents or bunkhouse. Those attending should provide their own food and sleeping bag/mats.

  • Your choice, but please check beforehand.

Price:

  • £750.00 Includes all ferries; transport accommodation; insurance; climbing ropes and hardware.

Group size:

  • One Instructor/Guide to two people.
